Project Summary
There is a significant gap in nature conservation practice at the municipal level. Despite numerous training opportunities for municipal personnel on a variety of topics, there are few if any nature conservation training offers. The Corvus Centre is working with Skyline Partners Ltd. to explore the potential to deliver nature conservation training for municipal leaders delivered on a regular basis.
We are currently surveying municipal leaders regarding this perceived need, and potential approaches to fill it, including on-going, fee-for-service courses, available to staff in all Alberta municipalities.
The next step is creating the course materials, in consultation with both knowledgeable municipal personnel and experts in nature conservation (especially with regard to the municipal realm).
